The first picture in our timeline
is of Neal Peters in the Netherlands right after World War
II, delivering groceries for his father who owned a grocery
store outside of Amsterdam. In those days he took the order
at the customer's house, brought it back to the shop for
preparation, and then delivered it on his bike.
Peters Imports began in 1976 when Neal purchased
a small retail store (Van's Dutch Imports) in West Michigan.
As his sons joined him in the business, the customer base
boomed and our first location was quickly outgrown. We have
moved twice since then, and continue to grow and expand.
Neal's sons, Ed and Ernie Peters now navigate our ship,
but the motto back then, the customer truly is king,
does not vary much from our promise to you today: Each
and every one of our Team Members is dedicated to giving
you the best, most responsive service possible. From customer
service to our credit department, from purchasing to order
picking, you will receive only our best.
We are very pleased to present our
online catalog. We have come a long way from our humble
beginnings 33 years ago, when we served our Dutch customers
out of an 800-square-foot shop. Thanks to our outstanding
group here today, Peters Imports now serves thousands of
customers around the country from a state-of-the-art facility.
We will be updating our company page frequently, introducing
you to all of our departments. Bookmark our site and check
back often!

Tom started his career with Peters Imports in November 2006 as the manager of Customer Service. With his extensive prior experience in operations, it became clear that Tom’s abilities could make a significant difference within the operations function at Peters Imports. He was then promoted to Director of Operations in June 2009. He is always willing to pitch in wherever he is needed. So don’t be surprised if you hear him answer the phone with a helpful, “Peters Imports! How may I direct your call?” Tom lives in Jenison, Michigan and enjoys spending his free time fishing, remodeling, and as a soccer coach. He is the father of 3 sons. One of them works in Marketing at Peters part-time while completing his university degree and the other two live in sunny Florida. |
